Self-Care

We absolutely love that practicing self-care is becoming increasingly more spoken about and focused on. We should embrace this movement & make self-care & self love front of mind to help become our happiest & healthiest selves. At Fertile You, we believe that self-care is the key to our mental, physical and emotional health and overall well-being.

First step to prioritising self-care: Identify the activities that affect our wellbeing. Naturally, our emotions and moods are constantly changing. We want to encourage you to regularly pay attention to what is presently affecting you on a day-today basis. Check in on yourself. Ask yourself how you are just like you would to a friend.

We get it, it’s easy to get caught up in life’s commitments and stresses but we have to put time aside for ourselves as stress can negatively impact your chances of falling pregnant.

  1. Keeping active as part of your daily routine

Keeping active daily doesn’t mean working out numerous times a day and excessive gym sessions… it can just be as simple as getting outside for a quick walk during your lunch break. Try to set a time daily where you can get active and move your body. You will not only release positive endorphins and maintain physical benefits, staying active is also great for mindfulness and stress relief.

  1. A day for organisation

At Fertile You we find that staying organised and finding a healthy routine helps us to practise self care. We find the best way is to dedicate a day of the week where you can have time for meal planning, booking appointments, planning your week ahead, and run errands. This way you can stay on top of your personal goals and commitments in a healthy and maintainable manner.

  1. Eat Right

Eating the right foods, with the best nutrition will not only make you feel a million dollars, but will also help you to feel healthy, comfortable and energised. Eating a balanced diet will target what's happening within, allowing your insides to thrive whilst also ensuring you receive the best nutrition to help you strive on the outside.

  1. Start saying no to others and saying more Yes to you.
Do you have a fear of saying no and letting others down? Don't worry, you’re not alone! Although we might not want to admit it, many of us struggle with saying the word ‘no’. We get it, it's not just as simple as saying ‘no’ — we fear we might disappoint, let someone down, instil thoughts of anger and rejection or even appear as just plain rude. BUT! This fear can lead to over, commitment, heightened stress, anxiety and neglection of your own self care and wellbeing. Let’s be real: saying no, is just a word — it's really nothing to be afraid of, its okay to say no and, instead, say yes to yourself more. Sometimes, you have to put your own well-being first!
