Healthier Holiday Crack (Hormone-Friendly Festive Treat)

This healthier holiday crack is a festive favourite with a nourishing twist. Sweet, crunchy and chocolatey, it’s made with hormone-friendly swaps to support blood sugar balance, steady energy and overall wellbeing, so you can enjoy a treat without the sugar crash.


Perfect for entertaining, gifting, or keeping in the fridge for those “something sweet” moments during the holidays.


Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C and line a baking tray with baking paper.
  2. Arrange wholegrain or gluten-free crackers in a single layer on the tray.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt grass-fed butter or coconut oil with coconut sugar or maple syrup, stirring until smooth and gently bubbling.
  4. Pour the caramel mixture evenly over the crackers, spreading gently to coat.
  5. Bake for 8-10 minutes until bubbling and lightly caramelised.
  6. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle dark chocolate (70% or higher) over the top. Allow it to melt, then spread evenly.
  7. Sprinkle with dried cranberries, shredded coconut and a pinch of flaky sea salt.
  8. Allow to cool completely, then break into pieces and enjoy.
