Matcha Bagels with Chia Seeds, Berry Elixir Jam & Matcha Butter

Ingredients

For the Bagels:

  • 4 cups bread flour

  • 1 ½ cups warm water

  • 2 tsp instant yeast

  • 2 tbsp sugar or honey

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 2 tsp high-quality matcha powder

  • 1 tbsp chia seeds (for topping)

For the Berry Elixir Jam:

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen raspberries

  • 2 tbsp water

  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)

  • 1 scoop Fertile You Female Elixir

For the Matcha Butter:

  • 100g unsalted butter (softened)

  • 1 tsp matcha powder

  • 1–2 tsp honey (optional)

Method

1. Make the Bagel Dough

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.

  2. Add the bread flour, salt, and matcha powder. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

2. Shape & Boil the Bagels

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (390°F).

  2. Punch down the dough and divide into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball, then poke a hole through the centre to form a bagel shape.

  3. Bring a large pot of water to a boil, adding 1 tbsp sugar to the water. Boil each bagel for 1 minute per side.

  4. Remove and sprinkle with chia seeds.

3. Bake

  • Transfer boiled bagels to a lined baking tray and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and cooked through.

4. Make the Berry Elixir Jam

  1. In a small saucepan, combine berries, water, and sweetener.

  2. Simmer over medium heat for 10-15 minutes until thickened.

  3. Remove from heat and stir in 1 scoop of Female Elixir. Let cool before serving.

5. Make the Matcha Butter

  • Mix softened butter, matcha powder, and honey (if using) until smooth and creamy.

To Serve

Slice a warm matcha bagel in half, spread generously with matcha butter, and top with a spoonful (or two) of berry elixir jam. Pair with your morning tea or coffee for a balanced, antioxidant-rich breakfast.
